Abstract: Helicobacter Pylorus (H. Pylori) is a Gram-negative, motile, microaerophilic spiral bacterium. Helicobacter species cause some degree of persistent inflammation in mammalian stomach. A high prevalence of H. Pylori infection is noted in developing countries like India (80 percent) than developed countries (50%) and in population with low socio- economic status. The present review profiles the epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of H. Pylori.
