Impact of Telemedicine on Quality Drug Supply Chain in Healthcare System

Prashant Y. Mali , Dr. Papiya Bigoniya

Introdution: Objective of present article is to highlighting the impact of telemedicine on quality drug supply chain in a healthcare system. An evaluation framework for telemedicine needs to be capable of modeling changes in behavior of healthcare consumers, those recognize differences in quality of service and finally quantifying the value of these changes. This is no small task and obtaining the required data will likely require co-operation of many parties including healthcare providers, patients, hospital and program administrators and policymakers. These are the same groups that could benefit greatly from a better understanding of how telemedicine technologies affect health care delivery. But a meaningful framework for analysis needs to capture the many aspects of telemedicine implementation. Telemedicine is practiced on the basis of two concepts, real time (synchronous) and store-and-forward (asynchronous). Real time telemedicine could be as simple as a telephone call or as complex as robotic surgery. It requires the presence of both parties at the same time and a communications link between them that allows a real-time interaction to take place. Video-conferencing equipment is one of the most common forms of technologies used in synchronous telemedicine. Store-and-forward telemedicine involves acquiring medical data (like medical images, biosignals etc) and then transmitting to a doctor or medical specialist at a convenient time for assessment offline. It does not require the presence of both parties at the same time.
