Antibacterial Activity of
Saraca Asoca Leaves Extract

Abstract
The current study terminate the antibacterial activity
of ethyl acetate extract of dried mature leaves of
Saraca asoca against four different bacterial strains
Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas
aeruginosa and Bacillus cereus. Ethyl acetate extract of
Saraca asoca leaves at high concentration (100 µl) show
maximum zone of inhibition against all four bacterial
strains. Comparison to Escherichia coli, ethyl acetate
extract shows significant antibacterial activity against
Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and
Bacillus cereus.
