Nanotechnology in
Nutraceuticals: A Novel Approach

Introduction
Nanotechnology has made revolutionalised changes in
almost all streams of science. Particularly,
applications of nanotechnology has brought revolutionary
changes in the field of life sciences including drug
delivery, diagnostics, Pharmaceuticals, production of
biomaterials, Cosmeceuticals and Nutraceuticals. Science
of nanotechnology helps researchers to overcome the
major challenges in health science including delivery of
drugs to the brain, diagnosis of chronic disorders etc.
Application of nanotechnology in the preparation of
nanoparticles of drugs, use of polymers has tremendously
helped in formulation of drugs in its nano form to
transfer across blood brain barrier. Needless to say
nanotechnology is most popular and widely accepted
research area of the researchers. Researchers have
studied the application of Nanotechnology in the area of
Nutraceuticals and they have observed that applications
of nanotechnology in nutraceuticals show several
promising results. Advances in nanotechnologies are
enabling the realization of the potential of
nanotechnology for Nutraceutical applications. We have
attempted to summarize the applications of
nanotechnology relevant to nutraceuticals and its
benefits.
