Abstract
A simple, accurate, precise and economical procedure for
simultaneous estimation of Olmesartan medoxomil and
Hydrochlorothiazide in two component tablet dosage form
has been developed for the quantitative estimation. The
method is based upon determination of Olmesartan
medoxomil at 256.5 nm and Hydrochlorothiazide at 271 nm,
in methanol by the g multicomponat mode of analysis of
UV spectrophotometer. Olmesartan medoxomil show Beer’s
law in the concentration rang of 0-50 µg/ml while
Hydrochlorothiazide in the range 0-30 µg/ml. For both
the drugs their absorbances are practically additivity
at both the wavelengths. The method was validated
statistically. Recovery study was performed to confirm
the accuracy of the method.
