Vital Ayurvedic Leads as Seen Under Microscope With Potential for Future Drug Candidates: A Report on its Authentication and Quality

Introduction: Ayurveda is a combination of two words, ‘Ayu’ and ‘Veda’. The word ‘Ayu’ means life which is the conjunction of body (Sarira), sense organ (Indriya), psyche (Satya) and self (Atma). Veda denotes the knowledge as well as attainment. So Ayurveda means the knowledge and attainment of the Sarira, Indriya, Satya and Atma. Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine, have been practiced from ancient times in eight major clinical specialties of medicine viz.- 1Kayachikitsa (medicine), 2Salya Tantra (surgery), 3Salakya (diseases of eye, ear, nose, throat), 4Kaumarabhritya (Pediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology), 5Bhutavidya (psychiatry), 6Agada Tantra (toxicology), 7Rasayana Tantra (nutrition, rejuvenation and geriatrics), 8Vajikarana (therapeutics of infertility).
