Introduction: The Pharm.D. Course was introduced by our Union Government vide “Pharm D gazette 2008 notification” by Govt. of India (No. V.13013/1/2007-PMS dated 13.03.2008). This is 6 years (5+1) clinical oriented professional doctoral program in pharmacy approved through Pharmacy council of India under Pharmacy Act 1948 section 10 also. It is dedicated to provide well programmed pharmaceutical care to patients. The curriculum deals with pharmaceutical technology, pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, posology & clinical toxicology etc. through bed side training setup which helps to apply drug knowledge to advice over better treatment options for patients based on evidence based medicine. The role of clinical pharmacists are well recognised in developed countries and well defined by WHO.
