Abstract: Pharmacy is a health profession in which pharmacist provides care for their patients as one of the member of the health care team. It is a unique profession as it is directly related to nation's health care with the main emphasis on the production of quality medicines, identifying patient needs and giving appropriate direction for correct usage of medicine. The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) defines pharmacy as a profession concerned with the art and science of preparing medicines from natural or synthetic sources with suitable and convenient materials for distribution and use in the treatment and prevention of disease, thereby making a pharmacist a key figure in the health care setup of the nation. The Pharmaceutical Industry in India is one of the flagship seller's of India's growing knowledge economy. It is recognized the world over as a reliable source of quality medicines at affordable prices. This makes us look at pharmacy educational institutions which are breeding centre for pharmacist. Are these institutions developing pharmacist in this advent of technology in the right perspective?
