Abstract: Though my dream was to get admission in MBBS course in Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, I was not successful in my venture. However I was successful to get admission in the B.Pharm course in the Department of Pharmaceutics, Institute of Technology Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi. I have experience of one decade as student and faculty of Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi. I was student of B.Pharm and M.Pharm. courses for about six years and as faculty member for four years in the department of Pharmaceutics, Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi. When I worked as lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutics, Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, I also completed my Ph.D. programme under the supervision of Dr. K. D. Gode and Dr. S V Tatwawadi.
It was an excellent experience as a student and faculty member in department of Pharmaceutics, Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Our B.Pharm. class was to commence from August 1971, I reached department of Pharmaceutics on the first day of reopening and as per timetable I was ready to attend the class. However on the first day I was only one student in the department of Pharmaceutics, Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Dr. G. P. Srivastav, Professor and Head of the department of Pharmaceutics was available in the entrance of the department though I was only one on that day he accompanied me to class room and he delivered a lecture of two hours. He could explain me about history of Pharmacy and pharmaceutical dosage forms in excellent way. As a senior teacher he impressed me throughout my B.Pharm and M.Pharm. courses. He was one of the best teacher and I had great lessons from this great teacher.
