Abstract: The present scenario of pharmacy education at Post Graduate (P.G.) level has witnessed a revolutionary change since past few years. Various new specialized courses have been and are being introduced at P.G.level like Pharmaceutical marketing, Quality assurance and Control, Phytopharmacy and Phytomedicine, Pharmaceutical Analysis etc. On one hand, such courses are offering ample opportunities for pharma students to gain in-depth subject knowledge and to develop excellence in specialized areas, significant from the pharmacy point of view. Wider choices are now available for the students to pursue their higher education. On the other hand students are finding themselves in the state of dilemma with regard to the choice of the course as well as job opportunities and prospects. Even Pharma industry people are a bit confused when it comes to the recruitment of a pharmacy postgraduate with such specialization in the industry. It has been observed that universities are granting permission to the institutes to run such courses in spite of the fact that they don't have adequate faculty members, both experience wise as well as area of specialization. In this context the authors recognize the utmost need to council fresh graduates with regard to admission at P.G. level. Experienced faculty members and subject experts should shoulder this responsibility.
