The 7th Dr. P. D. Sethi’s Annual Award instituted by KONGPOSH Publication, publishers of The Pharma Review and Indian Pharma Reference Guide in honour of Dr. P. D. Sethi, Eminent Pharma Analyst, for the best research paper published in the field of Pharmaceutical Analysis for the year 2011 was jointly awarded to Prof. Rajendra Kakde and Prof. Dipak Kale. Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences,
RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur. For their Paper titled Simultaneous Determination of Pioglitazone, Metformin, and Glimepiride in Pharmaceutical Preparations using HPTLC Method Journal of Planar Chromatography 24 (2011). The award carries a reward of Rs. 10,000/- and a Certificate In total 45 papers from different institutions competed for the award.

The management of M/s KONGPOSH Publications had established a life-time annual award since 2005 for best Research Paper in Pharmaceutical Analysis published in “The Pharma Review”, its official publication in recognition of Dr. Sethi's contribution in the field.
Dr. P.D. Sethi, M.Pharm, Ph.D, is a senior member of the advisory board of The Pharma Review. He has been a Pharmaceutical Analyst for over 30 years and has a high standing in the profession.
With a view to attract larger participation by Research Analysts, the management has decided to extend the scope of this award to Research Papers published in All National and International Scientific Journals. The publications involving R&D work in Pharmaceutical Analysis using different analytical techniques such as HPLC, HPTLC, Derivative Spectroscopy etc. shall be eligible to compete.
The award money has now been increased to Rs. 10,000/-. In addition to the best paper award 5 certificate of momento are also awarded.
The author(s) working in Indian laboratories wishing to compete for the award may submit reprints (in duplicate) of their Research Papers published in that particular calendar year addressed to Mr. Raman Sehgal, convener “Dr. P.D. The award was handed over by Dr. N. Udupa, Principal, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the 61st IPC in Ahmedabad recently. Seen on the right is Mr. Raman Sehgal, convenor of the award.
