Introduction: Patents are considered important in
advancing knowledge. Many industries and individual
inventors spend considerable time and resources to
invent and/or innovate. The reward for time and
resources spent on invention or innovations are granted
in the form of patents by individual patents offices, if
inventor/innovator files applications.
For business organizations, it is not only important to
survive but also grow. The cut throat competition in the
market place ensures that the enterprises spend
sufficient time in invention and innovation thereby
bringing new products and /or services to market, and
protecting their products/services through the use of
various forms of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs).
